Rich cultural life and great atmosphere
In 2006 Køge was named Denmark's most charming centre of commerce, and charming it certainly is. Køge offers a rich cultural life and a very attractive location. Quaint old houses, some half-timbered, in warm colours create a cosy atmosphere in the centre of Køge. The town is located in a scenic area and it is very easy to reach the countryside, which consists of beaches, forests and open fields. This combination of old buildings and scenic surroundings is unique particularly this close to Copenhagen city centre.

Køge offers a wide range of sporting and other activities for children and adults. The town can also match Copenhagen in terms of café life. Køge is an attractive place to raise a family and does not even entail abandoning city life, since Copenhagen is easily accessible by public transport and car. Not surprisingly, Køge is expected to grow by six per cent per year and welcome 3,300 new citizens annually.
