Given the municipality’s favourable placing in relation to the regional traffic network, connections into and out of the municipality are excellent.
The Municipality of Rudersdal is well served by generally north-south traffic routes that pass through the municipality in three key bands:

The western area is served by the Kongevejen main road and the metropolitan rail link to Hillerød. Holte Station and Birkerød Station are the main collective traffic terminals.

The central area is served by the Helsingør motorway and the local Nærum train line.
Nærum Station is a traffic terminal with express bus connections and Park and Ride facilities. -
The eastern area is served by the key Strandvejen road artery and the coastal rail link, with stations at Skodsborg and Vedbæk. Vedbæk Station has Park and Ride facilities.
